I always struggle with what to get my friends and family. However, I have come across many items that I am like wow, this is the perfect gift. As someone who writes frequently and reads constantly, I will give you some of my best gift advice.

1. A Journal. Whether your friends is a writer or enjoys reading, a journal is always a great gift. It can work as daily journal to reflect upon your emotions or more of a poetry journal. As someone who writes a lot, I have tried several different notebooks, and this one is my favorite thus far! It comes in different colors and either dotted, plain, or ruled. 1. The Best Candle. A candle burning on your nightstand. The flame reflects on your wall. The sound of the fire embracing the wick making you company. See the picture, here? A candle creates the best space for anyone who likes to relax on a couch with a book in hand or anyone who sits at their desk with pen and paper. 1. Perfume Oil. I received this as a gift myself. At first, I didn’t know what to use it for, but then I began putting it in the spine of every book and journal I owned. It completely changed my reading experience. This oil smells like nostalgia, and there is something beautiful about delving into another world while smelling this scent. Click here to find it!

1. Pens. I will include two of my favorite pens. The first ones are by Rae Dunn, an interior designer who recently became very known for her minimalistic style. These are the perfect pens for someone who enjoys writing or even writing notes on the margins of their book. Click here to find them! While this is an Amazon link, they are often sold at places like TJ MAXX and/or Marshalls. Then, we have these famous pens. Personally, I love how they write. They are ink, but not messy at all. 1. Lastly, you can gift them your favorite book. If you are struggling to find the perfect book for them, I have some suggestions. If your friend is a nonfiction lover, I would recommend either Everything I Know About Love by Dolly Alderton or Lust for Life by Irving Stone. If your friend is a historical fiction lover, I would recommend The Rose Code by Kate Quinn or The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. Lastly (because I will only recommend books that fit in the genre that I read), you give them a poetry book.
